I have always bought RS books and magazine, this car was pictured in Jeremey Waltons book "RS - The Faster Fords" ISBN 0-947981-21-7 he refers to it as P4 - the forth prototype.
I read and saw a picture of this car in the book on RS 200's published by unique motor books.
This car is seen on page 210, I may scan the picture one day.
Not only that but I bought issue number 1 of Fast Ford where they feature this car with photos on page 33.
I found this link whilst surfing ... http://rallye.stars.free.fr/autos/rs200/album/album_rs.htm
June 2004 - I was in email conversation with the owner of #010 and they said that B690CEV is pictured on the back side of the original RS200 owners club issue.
November 2004 - I have been told B690CEV was in fact prototype #004.
Details about this RS200 are patchy at best. It would have been one of the first prototypes and "should" have been destroyed if you follow FORD's normal rules about prototypes, that said, chassis #003 and #005 made it !
I believe it was Left Hand Drive, a Road version and was, after testing, so much of a mess it was destroyed by FORD.
August 2005 - While surfing I found this image...
November 2005 - Matt Saunders gave me a bit of info here, the people in the picture are Kalle Grundell (right) and his co-driver Benny Melander (left) - Thanks Matt !
If you find any further info on this vehicle please email me on justin@rs200.org
Thanks,
Justin Smith
