I found some old paperwork that showed #179 as being registered as F565LHJ and that it was a Tarmac Demonstrator before being sold around May 1989 to Uwe Jaglas of Auto Hoffman GbbH of Germany.
The owner was later supplied with a 350 BHP kit and 9" 3 piece wheels.
I was in conversation with John Beck and he used to own #179 (along with #123 and now owns #081 and #106) - he doesn't remember it having any unusual wheels. - He is going to look for some images of her.
June 2005 - I have been sent an email from another owner saying they have seen #179 for sale at auction, due for sale in September 2005, here is the link. H&H Classic Car Auctions interesting that they quote the chassis number as having the letters EL not GL, I have emailed them for clarification.
October 2005 - Dave Seaton (#138) went to the auction to look over the car and generally she seemed in good condition, just a top to bottom check up needed. Good news, we have a new owner for #179 who got a great price of £40,260.00 and better still the car is remaining in the UK so selfishly, I get to see another one at some shows in 2006. The new owner has been in touch and I am looking forward to some images.
March 2006 - The new owner has been back in touch and sent some images !
