Lancia S4 was a good buy at £95k plus commossion :o
Thanks for the info Claudio.

Good value for the Lancia too... :)

I was there also standing next by the patio doors next to that red Porsche 959.

I watched the bidding with a chap next to me bidding until it hit about £80k then leaving it to a telephone bidder and a chap at the back (who seemed to be taking instruction on his mobile).

I think that was as interesting auction which has set the current bar Re: pricing

The reason I say I think it was interesting is that the car had some milage, I think 1800 ish, it was very very clean as you would expect but it was not perfect.

It was RHD which is a good benchmark for us UK RHD owners and it was registered albeit only 1 or 2 owners I think.

To hit £114,000 (plus the fees) shows really what people are happy to pay - I know that changes depending on who is in the running but we have to base prices on some kind of facts and here we have it. I think the buyer (who just auctioned it off) paid about that figure when he bought it so that further endorses the price.

Last year when C20 ORS sold it was not so clear cut as the car had many many parts and a model made of it's image - This, for me, made it more complicated but with that in mind and now this sale (and the one of the same car before) I think we can say that 1800cc cars that are straight examples with no competetion background or famous owners or piles of spares are all fetching about £110,000 to £120,000 - Add something to make it more special and it will be upwards of this benchmark.

With this in mind I just upped my agreed value (and hence premium !) to £110,000 (which is about £500 for 1000 miles for me as it happens).

Justin :)
