From FORD records I have read I think this car was originally sold around June 1989 to Mr (BO) from Lowestoft, Suffolk with 350 BHP and lamp pod but I also have an owner traced as being around August 1989 a (FT) from The Netherlands - From there I had lost the track until BO made contact in February 2010.
BO was looking to sell #156 along with a collection of other very nice classic Mercs and BMW's. (Merc & BMW EVO 2's !)
In March the new owner made contact to say he had bought the collection and was looking to get #156 to fully running condition during 2010. Watch this space for some images I hope
September 2010 - The current owner has realised he has no time to use #156 nor the space to keep her so she is up for sale on Ebay for £99,995 - Item number 160482651728 - Looks like a really nice car from the images. Black seats with a red steering wheel are unusual and she has red springs which are the uprated versions.
The index plate was G492SYY but (AW) told me on 5/2011 that it bears now C20 OOR, we think the original number was just for export and as such had a limited life.
In 2011 I was sent hi-res images of the VIN plate and chassis number stamping for our files (thanks MB).
On 15th November 2014 #156 sold at auction in the UK http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1986-ford-rs200 for £103,040 - Sadly, unless I have lost the email in the system, I do not know who the current owner is.
In December 2014 (JG) sent me a link to the car for sale in the UK at Park Lane (http://www.parklaneuk.com) - Amazing how demand for these is pushing up prices as it is for sale at £199,000 as is #184 at http://www.ronhodgson.co.uk
June 2022 - I have been sent a link to 156 up for sale https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/private- ... ia/1209380 - some great photos on the advert.
Jan 2023 - I have forgotten to update this record to show a new owner (JS) and the car is in the UK.
If you find out anything else about this car please drop me an email and i'll update the cars entry !
