Tyres 245 45 16

Post by cxa2000 »

Happy new year to all and nice to get back to grindstone finally :(

I've just replaced the tyres on my car, 245/45 R16 on Speedline split rims, can anyone tell me what the correct pressure should be, the manual specifies 2bar/29psi pressumably that's for the standard wheels with the 195 tyres?

Hi Claudio,

Happy new year to you too. :-)

The original wheels on standard road cars where 225's so not that different.

Also, I'm not actually sure if official pressures were published for a 245 width tread. I would simply use the same pressures as I understand that they are more linked to the weight they have to bear rather than width of the tyre.

Thanks Nikki, will set them at 29psi, could'nt believe how difficult it was to find 245/45 r16 tyres these days

I know what you mean... I have the same problem with the Escort's 225/45ZR16's.
