108 - 1 JBK - 1.8 - RHD - Current owner known (JBK) - UK

From the FORD paperwork I have seen I think this car was originally sold Peter Clarke of Yorks around January 1987 and I believe it was originally given the index D958GEN.

In December 2006 I had a flurry of emails as #108 had surfaced for sale in Autotrader for £100,000.

"1986 D Reg FORD RS200 Group B Rally Car2 Doors, Manual, Fastback, Petrol, 900 miles, Original Ford Gel Coat White. I am delighted to be able to offer for sale this very special Group B rally car, number 108 of only 200 ever produced. This particular car has just one former keeper, TOTALLY ORIGINAL, ORIGINAL TYRES - JUST BEEN STORED BY A COLLECTOR IN A HEATED GARAGE - NEVER BEEN MODIFIED OR MOLESTED - This car is the most frightening car I have ever driven, 0 to 60 mph in under 2.1 seconds, Four wheel drive, 250 BHP, Part exchange welcome. All major credit cards welcome. (LIBRARY PHOTO - AWAITING PHOTOGRAPHY) £100,000."

In February 2008 (CM) sent me some images and in May 2008 the new owner (JBK) got in touch and sent me some more images.

March 2023 I received this email:-

"Hello Justin - For some unknown reason after many many years I Googled chassis 108. The car JFK was sold new by my old dealership PCA of Skipton, the chassis number I do not recall. I can however categorically state chassis 108 was my own personal car initially registered PCA42. In the 90’s the car unfortunately was subject to water ingress to the depth of about 18’’. Because of the chassis configuration of steel & alloy I insisted the Insurance Co. wrote the car off! After a 9 month long battle the Insurance Co. told me the RS200 Specialist Collins of Congleton would buy the car for £35k with the Insurance Co. coughing up the remaining £17k! This story is expanded upon in the internet article and again I re iterate chassis 108 belonged to myself, it’s post PCA42 registration is not known to me. Regards. (PC)"

If you find out anything else about this car please drop me an email and I'll update the cars entry !
