114 - C20ORS - 1.8 - RHD - White - Current owner known (MD) - UK

Post by Justin Smith »

From the original FORD paperwork that I read I believe that this car was originally sold to a N Turner from Northampton around May 1989.

In April 2004 I was contacted by email by the owner, (PC), and he had the following info for the site.

First owner - Mr N Turner
Original Invoice dated 02.05.1985
Extras included 350BHP upgrade, Radio Cassette, Central Locking and Alarm, Electric Windows and Mirrors, Leather Ricaros, One of twenty Momo Steering Wheels signed by Stig Blomquist
Sold unregistered £58,665.50
Used as a show piece in his nightclub.

Second Owner - Mr R Forshaw
Sold to him 11.09.1992
Price £65,000.00
First registered 04.06.1993 Registration R 250
Maintained meticulously by Gordon Spooner

Third Owner -Steve Rockingham
Sold to him 14.12.1998
2936 Miles on the clock
Registration R 250 kept by previous owner and re-registered by DVLA as K648 XEL, changed 06.04.1999 to C20 ORS
Car featured in Jeremy Clarkson video 'Car Years'.
I had met Steve before purchasing the car on numerous occasions at Castle Coombe and expressed an interest in the car.

Fourth Owner - Mr (PC)
I bought the car 27.09.2002 complete with a full set of Body Panels, Lighting Pod, Ears, Original Style Wheels and Tyres etc. 5200 Miles on the clock. It currently has 5851 miles on the clock. Since then, the car is driven on sunny days and trips to shows at Castle Coombe.
The car has been recently photographed and measured for an up and coming 1/18th scale model and I have been approached by a TV company for the car to appear in a TV programme in the future on Sky, although this is not definite yet.
The final picture on your web site was taken at the Rally Super Car day at Castle Coombe last year.

I did some digging and understand that this car also had the index R250 and K648XEL before having C20ORS

I have met (PC) a few times now at various shows, his latest claim to fame is that they modelled the new 1/18th RS200 die cast model on his and Wills car (#188). The model even has his index on it ! - He will sign models for a small fee ! (He offered this to a chap who had just bought a model at the RS National Day and he gave him a very weird look)

I bumped into Graham Robson in September 2009 and from the horses mouth he told me how his red one came about. He was at Tickford looking to pick up his next car as it was there being prepared for customer release (he had a few 200's over the years for testing for FORD) and they had a tin of Ferrari red having just done a car, he literally said, "If that paints going spare you can do my next car before I pick it up" and that's how another one happened !!

Can you imagine FORD being so "dynamic" now adays !?

A basic check a while ago showed:-

Manufacturer Ford
Model RS 200 4WD
Body type 2 door saloon
Colour White
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 31 December 1993
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 27 September 2002

September 2009 - (PC) has been in touch and he might sell #114 this year - He is looking for £75,000 with a shed load of spares.

March 2010 and #114 has a new owner. Sold for circa £87,000 for those interested. http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/cla ... arno/86624

August 2023 - During my process of checking the database is up to date I found that I have failed to update the entry for 114 as being owned now by (MD) with the car in the UK.

If you find out anything else about this car please drop me an email and I'll update the cars entry !
