142 - E702UKJ - 1.8 - LHD - White - Current owner NOT known - Last seen in Italy

I found this car whilst surfing around one day... http://rallye.stars.free.fr/autos/rs200 ... bum_rs.htm and on 6th Feb 2004 I received an email from (JMcA) who stated he was the first owner of this car and it is now a LHD 250BHP road car. He swapped ?! it for chassis 96, a RHD EVO ! (nice)

On 11/2/2004 he send me some more information...

"I bought this car (RHD 250BHP chassis No 142) new on 29th Sept 1987 for £53,812.47. This price included the "Stratton Pack" which consisted of a partial leather interior, upgraded carpets and better paint. On 26th July 1991 I bought Chassis No. 96 (a LHD EVO) from Ford at Boreham. It was a car that they had sent to Canada, but had never sold. In August 1992 Gordon Spooner Engineering converted 142 to LHD and 96 to RHD along with the entire interiors. So....142 (E702UKJ) ended up with a standard road interior and LHD, whilst i now had 96 (J200RSE) as a RHD EVO road car with an upgraded interior (including electric windows and an alarm fitted for the Canadian market!). I sold E702UKJ on 20th Jan 1995 for £31,500. I still have J200RSE."

So an answer to how 142 and 96 ended up with each others interiors but J200RSE has a new owner as I type.

In June 2004 another enthusiast, William Arnold, sent me an images for the database, a cutting from the back of Classic and Sportscar June 1996 which is an advert in back of the magazine.

In November 2017 (MF) made contact by email discussion his ownership of 175..

"Hello - I bought 175 from Kevin Standen and sold it in 1997, I also bought no 142 from Oakfields at about the same time as I bought 175. Regards (MF)"

2010 - Phil A Clark posted these images which he says were from the Brands Hatch paddock sometime in the 90's

October 2022 - I was contact by Girardo & Co. Ltd in relation to inspecting this car but I am not sure I ever actually saw the car in the flesh as I have none of my own images of the car, only the ones they sent me. I understand the car was sold to an Italian buyer but it may have been sold on already.
