From FORD paperwork I have read I think this car was originally sold to Dr K Hermes from Duisberg, Germany around December 1987.

Eddi Laumanns sent me this old image that he took...

Hi Justin,

Attached please find a scan of a slide that I took in the mid 1990s, possibly in 1994. I took it in the German town of Göttingen in Lower Saxony, where the Leinemann family owns the pictured "Astoria Hotel", apart from several other companies they run from the village of Katlenburg-Lindau nearby. In those days their "Flippothek" by Merkur amusement halls business for example was running more than 60 gambling halls all over Germany. The pic shows Friedrich (aka Friedel) Leinemann (left) and his road-going Ford RS200 'E' as well as his younger brother Bernd Leinemann (inside the Cossie of his former wife).

Checking your list I have the feeling that Friedel's RS200 could be chassis no 148. It is quite possible that he still owns the car with the German reg no OHA-DD 915 – but I had no contact with the brothers for a couple of years. The siblings where Rallycross drivers, but while Bernd Leinemann became the 1994 FIA European Rallycross Championship runner-up to Briton Richard Hutton (Division 1, Group N cars; both drove a Ford Escort RS Cosworth) and for the 1996 ERC season an official Ralliart Germany Mitsubishi factory driver with a GpN Lancer Evo 3 (through my negotiations), Friedel Leinemann was less successful in our motorsport and changed to circuit racing soon. There he used to compete in the so-called 'GTP Weekends' with different Porsche 911s and scored many good results over the years, together with Claude Schons from Luxembourg.

Regards
Eddi

PS: Bernd Leinemann was a good friend of mine, but we lost contact over all these years since he left the Rallycross scene.
It may have had a UK index of E46LUV but that may be a red herring, I also believe that the owner investigated having the car altered to become an 2.1 Evolution model but I do not know if that ever occurred.

Then, in 2007 (MK) made contact with an image for us all as the car was spotted up for sale..

Full EVO spec Build by Tickford 1990 with 2,1 l engine transmission and brakes. Chassis number 148. I am the second owner. 12000 km since new. For sale because time and garage. Best regards (MK)
In 2011 Lars made contact to say it was owned by (MK) in Sweden but I am not sure whether this is out of date given that it was up for sale?
Hello Justin! I have some information about car no. 148. It has chassis no. is SFACXXBJ2CGL00148. It's owned by (MK) in Vimmerby Sweden. It was featured in a Swedish rally magazine in the autumn of 2007. In that reportage it was stated that the car is an 2.1 EVO with the BDT-E engine. I checked the registration number, currently AGD 074, and it is not in road use since 22 October 2007. At the latest MOT on the 7 May 2007 the meter indication was 11780 km. If you want I can scan the reportage in the rally magazine and send to you.

Kind regards, Lars Andersson

For time being I will have to leave this as OWNER UNKNOWN :(

If you find out anything else about this car please drop me an email and i'll update the cars entry !
